🛡️ Utility shutoff protection. Most Ohio utility companies offer Medical Certification Programs. If you’re in active treatment, a signed form from your medical provider can legally prevent shutoffs or secure special payment terms. Ask your utility about their Customer Assistance Program (CAP) or a Medical Certification Form — and ask your oncology social worker to help.
💡 Tip. Ask your oncology team to connect you with a Financial Navigator (Cleveland Clinic – Taussig and University Hospitals – Seidman both have them). They can help unlock many of the grants below.
